Quotable Quotes

Here are some of my favorite and inspiring quotes in life. Some of them I read in a book and some of them I got from watching TV series and movies.

Patigilin niyo ang mundo; Gusto ko ng bumaba! - Carl Wheezer (Jimmy Neutron)

Success without Honor is an unseasoned dish; it will satisfy your hunger but it wont taste good... - so true

There once was a little girl who never knew love until a boy broke her HEART - from Megan
Fox's tattoo

A blunt pencil is better than a sharp mind - from my newspaper adviser way back in high school

There are hundreds of thousands of languages in the world but a smile speaks them all - cute

The key to surviving a surgical internship is denial. We deny that we're tired, we deny that we're scared, we deny how badly we want to succeed. And most importantly, we deny that we're in denial. We only see what we want to see and believe what we want to believe, and it works. We lie to ourselves so much that after a while the lies start to seem like the truth. We deny so much that we can't recognize the truth right in front of our faces. - Grey's Anatomy

I can't think of a single reason why I should be a surgeon, but I can think of a thousand reasons why I should quit. They make it hard on purpose... there are lives in our hands. There comes a moment when it's more than just a game, and you either take that step forward or turn around and walk away. I could quit but here's the thing, I love the playing field. -
Dr. Meredith Grey
(Grey's Anatomy)

Recycle for a green Earth

Eversince I became a vegetarian by force (my husband is the real vegetarian and he is the appointed cook and since I dont know how know how to cook... you know the rest of the story) I became aware of my sorroundings. About going back to nature. Loving Mother Earth.

Here are the tested and proved back to nature recycling tips:

Turn Leftover Soap Pieces Into a New Bar

If you just want to turn our leftover soap pieces into a bar, you will need is a plastic travel soap holder with a top. Save your soap pieces in this until it is as full as it can get. Fill with warm water and let sit overnight or for as long as it takes for the soap to become a soft, gooey mess.Stir this mixture well, and you now have your soap base. From here, you can let your melted soap pieces dry out in the soap holder by leaving the top open and waiting for the water to evaporate, or you can get creative.Getting Creative with Leftover Soap PiecesLet's say you want to get creative. Pull out your essential or scented oils and your food colorings. The oils can be purchased very cheaply at dollar stores or discount drug stores.Add about 10 drops of essential or scented oil to your soap base, and stir until well mixed. This may seem like a lot of scent, but some of it will evaporate in the drying process.Decide what color you want your soap to be. Regular food coloring will work fine to make lighter colors, but for darker colors, you may need to use professional icing and food color paste from the craft store. With just a couple of dips of a toothpick, you can get a lovely, darker color than with regular food coloring.

NOTE:Although these professional color pastes are non-toxic, they may cause the soap to run when used.If doing a swirl design, you will wait until the soap base is in the molds, then you simply drop a drop or two onto the soap base, and swirl with a toothpick or piece of large spaghetti until you get the desired effect.Once you have colored your leftover soap mixture, you can either leave it in the bar holder to dry, or pour it into tiny guest soap molds, which you can purchase at craft stores. These molds can look like candy molds, or can be hollow, two pieced molds with a hole in the top for pouring in the soap. Simply fill the mold with the recycled soap, let dry, and there you have some beautiful, scented guest soaps.Finishing Your Guest SoapsYour finished guest soaps may have pieces that need to be trimmed off. It's easy to do this with a very sharp knife or exacto knife. After trimming the edges, take a wet piece of lintless cloth and smooth the rough edges. If using a mold that makes the soap flat on one side, and you want it to be three dimensional, you can put them onto a wet rag for awhile, and when the flat sides are a little bit softened, simply press them together, and let dry.If you save leftover soap pieces for quite a while, making these scented guest soaps can be a neat project for Christmas or Birthday gifts that your children will love. So start saving your soap pieces and saving money today.

more to come so watch out!

Hay naku...

Just got back from the mall, Im supposed to go to a dinner with my team, but half of them cancelled at the last minute, so I followed suit... instead, I wiled my time going to the mall, window shopping, so that my time and effort in making paganda will not be sayang...I end up buying a christmas gift for my brother eventhough the holiday is still 3 months away...

Im really an impulsive buyer... When I see something real nice... I convince myself that my son, my brothers, my mom or my hubby would really appreciate it and in the end, I buy something totally unnecessary...

Hay nako, for the past couple of months, I've been trying to save money but just blew it up on something totally unnecessary... Have you ever done that?..

Those Street Kids

I was riding the jeepney earlier, it was sweltering hot in the afternoon. Our jeepney stopped on a red light and 2 kids climb in. One sat on the passenger area while the other one with the sack, full of scrap and trash hang outside the jeep...

The driver shouted where do you think you are going? They replied: To the junk shop, not far ahead. The driver shouted: scram...

No my maternal instincts are awaken, my hear goes to them. I can see that already, they are subject to the injustices, inequality, rejection and partiality of society and they are aware of it. I can see the shame and hurt in their eyes... And these kids are only 8-10 years old who is already earning a living for their family....

Also, I was going home early in the morning, a light rain fell, people where already running for shelter since these are the days of flu outbreak... This image, this memory will forever be etched on my heart...2 siblings, presumably, are sleeping on the streets... amidst the chaos, totally oblivious of the rain. The older one covered the smaller child with his oversized dirty shirt. It is cold but that's all they have amidst the cold weather...

I almost ran to them, but social norms prevented me. All I can do is look at them with pity...Where is the Goverment? Where is Dswd? I even ask Where is God?

Lost Intimacy

How do you bring back those intimate moments? Those times when by just looking at each other, you seem to read each others mind...Those times when your eyes lit up when you hear his voice... when shivers run through your spine at the meerest contact of your skin...

How do you bring back the laughter during the dullest occasion. Or the tears on the moments of triumphs....how...when all that prevails right now is the mundane activities of daily living. No more talking, no more romance, no more sweet nothings, no more intimacy... I guess I see life through rose colored glasses but I am hurt...

How do you bring back the lost intimacy?
