According to Bhutan Today, it started during a picnic.Seven-year-old Jetsun Pema hung on to 17-year-old Prince Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and asked him to take her away. When asked why, she said, “Because I like you.” The Prince got down on his knees and said, “Cheychey, when you grow up, if I am single and not married and if you are single and not married, I would like you to be my wife provided we still feel the same.”
Fourteen years later, their feelings did not change and they got married and they live happily ever after (at least that's how I would like their fairy tale love story to end).
